Atlanta’s Skyline Soars: 1072 West Peachtree to Become City’s Tallest Residential Skyscraper in Over Three DecadesA new chapter in Atlanta’s architectural story is being written in Midtown as 1072 West Peachtree, a sleek mixed-use skyscraper, steadily climbs into the skyline. Once completed, the 60-story tower will claim the title of Atlanta’s tallest residential building—and the tallest structure added to the city in more than 33 years.
Spearheaded by the renowned Rockefeller Group in collaboration with local architectural firm TVS, the ambitious project is already reshaping the city’s silhouette. Rising from a stone-clad podium that houses parking and office spaces, the glass-clad residential tower will eventually stand 228 meters (749 feet) tall.
As of now, construction has surged past the 20th floor, with the lower levels—devoted to office use and parking—already poured and set. Renderings reveal a modern composition of three distinct volumes: a nine-level parking structure at the base, eight floors of office space above, and the soaring residential component that dominates the skyline.
“1072 West Peachtree marks a pivotal moment for Atlanta,” said the Rockefeller Group. “It’s not just a tower—it’s the tallest residential and mixed-use development in the city, and the fifth tallest building overall once completed.”
Beyond its impressive height, the skyscraper is packed with upscale amenities. The 10th floor will feature fitness facilities, lounges, and what the developers describe as “Atlanta’s largest outdoor amenity deck,” cleverly nestled beneath the office segment. The exterior incorporates warm limestone and concrete finishes at the base, lending a grounded elegance to the high-rise.
The ground level will also bring new energy to the street, with plans for retail and dining spaces along with separate lobbies for residential and office tenants.
Set for completion in 2026, 1072 West Peachtree is poised to stand as a beacon of Atlanta’s continued urban growth and architectural evolution. When finished, it will join the ranks of the city’s most iconic towers, such as the 312-meter Bank of America Plaza, and anchor the next generation of high-rise living in Georgia’s capital.
